How to find a low-competitive keyword
Keywords are one of the most important tools that are used in SEO-friendly content writing. To keep an article on top of the search list, it is very important to use SEO-friendly keywords that might make it easier to find the preferable match.
For content writers, making sure that the keywords which are used are low-competitive is obvious. Because if high-competitive is used, it will not rank in the search results. So, it is important to use low competitive keywords. Now, let's see how can anyone find a low competitive keyword:
- Using meaningful phrases:
Usually, when people search for anything online, they use meaningful phrases. If anything is used in the article that is meaningless but a phrase, it will be impossible to find.
- Following SV, KD & CPC:
To find a relevant keyword, it is obvious to look for these 3 types of scores. SV means Search Volume, which refers to the number of searches by other people in a monthly-based calculation. To find it, an extension for google chrome named Ubersuggest, which is free, can be a trustworthy option. KD means Keyword Difficulty, which may also appear as SD. It refers to the rational competition among keywords. If the score is less, that means it is a low competitive keyword. It is easier to find it using Ahrefs named extension in google chrome. Finally, CPC is Cost Per Click, which refers to the cost of clicks per organic visitor of the ads that are used.
- Comparing scores:
People must choose low competitive keywords based upon SV, KD & CPC scores. To see these scores, they must use extensions. There are so many extensions, which may show varying results. In that case, it is obvious to search a keyword manually & look for the domain authority of competitors. If that is low, it means it's better for the user.
- Using different types of keywords:
There can be different types of content. One can be either Blog or Informative, and the other can be either Review or Commercial. For these variants, it is better to use different types of keywords. While choosing, it is better to follow their KD scores. Such as, the preferable KD score for Blog or informative content is below 10. Before finalizing these types of keywords, they can be searched using WH questions and a star sign before the main question. However, the preferable KD score for Review or Commercial can be less than 5. It can be searched using Top, Best, Reviews & some other words.
There are some other things to follow for content writing, such as following the search intent method, maintaining the ratio, and following trends using Google Trends or Think with Google. However, Keyword selection is more important than other options.
